Boots Princess
Princess Leia is one of the hottest Halloween costumes out there this year, and making a costume for any of her looks is pretty simple. There is no need to spend a lot of money on a Princess Leia Halloween adult costume when you probably have a lot of the materials right in your own home. Also, making your own Halloween costume can be quite rewarding, in addition to economical.
The cult heroine Princess Leia is someone every little girl who loves the Star Wars stories fantasizes about becoming. She is strong-willed, beautiful, courageous, and powerful. There is nothing Princess Leia can't do, so dressing up as her makes for a wonderful Halloween costume.
The costume she was introduced to the world in is a very easy ensemble to create. So, in just a few minutes you will be able to create your very own Princess Leia Halloween adult costume.
In Star Wars: A New Hope Princess Leia wore a simple hooded white gown with flowing sleeves, white boots, and her famous cinnamon-bun hairstyle. For the dress, you can get away with using a simple white robe or gown as well as white fabric or bed sheet.
Just be sure that the fabric is lightweight and flowy. If you are sewing your own dress, use extra material or white pillowcase for the hood. The dress Leia wore in the film had a high collar, so you could use a white turtleneck shirt under the dress. A pair of white go-go boots will do nicely.
The two main accessories that you will need are your hair and your belt. (A laser gun will do nicely here as well.) You'll need the belt to mimic the look she had in the movie, and to keep your dress in place.
Ideally, you will use a silver and white belt but if you cannot locate or make one, use a black one. Get creative and use a strip of white material and affix silver jewelry or decorations to it.
For the infamous Princess Leia hair, you may want to get a long-haired wig and style it before you put it on. However, whether you do it with a wig or your real hair, the idea is the same. Part the hair down the middle and twist both sides into tight rolls that look like cinnamon buns.
The buns should be on both sides of the head, over the ears, and rather large. Fasten them with plenty of bobby pins and clips.
If you don't want to go with the traditional Princess Leia Halloween adult costume, you could choose her looks from any of the three films. When she was on Endor with the Ewoks, she dressed very sporty with a vest, pants, and boots.
While she was a prisoner of Jabba the Hutt, she wore a metal bikini with long leather flaps in the front and back of the bottom. If you are dressing like Princess Leia this year, go ahead and get creative with your ensemble!
