Fun Funky
I have a love for funky fun and unique garden plants. Here's one to try. It's called Sea Holly, and is actually in the family thistles. Sea Holly is a garden plant perennials, which means that you plant once and it comes year after year, somewhat depending on your climate.
This plant never fails to attract attention and comments from people who see my garden. It grows 3-4 feet tall, highly branched and branches are bright electric blue. It's amazing!
The only drawback to this beautiful plant in the fall, you must cut the ground and burn or compost the plant. Do not give more than that, otherwise it will cast seed and you will discover very quickly that it No family trait fbeing a thistle, if you know what I mean. The following spring, he returns again to its beauty.
It is an easy plant to grow and does best with full sun, or as much sun is also available. I live in the Pacific Northwest, USA so we get lots of rain and relatively mild summers and yet it seems sufficient for this plant. You can search for Sea Holly seeds in seed catalogs or sometimes you can find in some nurseries. An internet search would surely find you a source for this beautiful plant.
I think you know the one the coolest, funky plants for outdoors I've ever run across. It's called Evening Scented Stock, it is NOT the common stock, however.
This is an annual plant, which should be sown in early spring, directly into the soil where it is to flourish and grow. I recommend plant it near windows and doors, porches, etc. This plant really does not look like much in itself, this is not a pretty plant per se .. but when about 5:00 PM rolls around to watch his stuff! This plant has a very strong fragrance similar to hyacinth or lilac. In the gentle breeze it sends a burst Perfume to die for. This is why it is so excellent to plant near a window, door or pathway. When you open your screen in the evening This will be your home fragrance.

Here is another attempt. This one is called Autumn Crocus.In this case, you can tell a lot by his name. Buying in general as a bulb, which are generally quite large. It does return year after year without needing to re-planting.
In spring it shoots up a lot of leaves, is preparing plant for its flowers fall, be sure to leave that alone. Come about mid June or so, this foliage starts looking like it will die again just leave it as is. In late August / early September, when most flowers did his time and the garden begins to look sparse, out Autumn Crocus, with their beautiful flowers of lilac in color. This is an annual (only lives 1 growing season) plant called Love Lies Bleeding. It is strange as its name. It is very easy to cultivate. You simply direct seed into the ground (preferably in full sun), where it is to grow in spring. Her height seems to vary considerably. This is the last. Never tried the hellebore family? There are several varieties. They are perennial which means they return year after year. They are best planted in shady areas, but where they get sun in winter, as under leaved trees or something of that nature.
What is unusual about hellebores is that Bloom somewhere between December and March. There are very rare plants to do that! A variety is called Christmas Rose. It is very striking to see flowers in the middle sometimes snow. These plants are generally be purchased in a nursery. Consult your local nursery for this wonderful family of plants.
