Girls Irregular
Is it true that young girls with irregular periods have more chances of growing taller?
Is this true? Who has more chances to grow tall, a girl around 9 - 16 with an irregular period, or a girl of the same age range but with regular period (from menarche)?
You asked this question in the right time. i just learned this in my Human Development Class today! Here is the deal. Girls that are at the begining stages puberty tend to have irregular periods (if it is too irregular or just stays irregular for years then that girl should get it checked out). So what My prof. said in lecture today was that girls that mature at a later age tend to grow taller. This correlation between height and the age of the start of puberty is directly related. People have even done studies about it. Search in Deveopmental Psycology journals to get the detailed studies if u want. So to answer your question, its not the irregularity of the periods that determines height. Its the time at wich you start puberty (or first period).
