Great Shape
I know it can be hard to get into the habit of exercising regularly. For the most my life, I always procrastinated when I knew in fact regular exercise was good for me. I always told myself that "I do not have time", or "I don't have the money to go to gym or buy equipment", among other lame excuses like "it's raining today and I don't feel like running" or "I just need a few minutes more sleep" etc.
The good thing is, with the tips I'm giving you here, both time and money will stop being excuses for you. When apply these tips, you'll realize you don't need a gym or expensive equipment, or lots of time, 15 minutes in your home is all you need to exercise. And you'll still get great benefits.
Start Small
When you just start out, start by taking the smallest step regularly every single day. Doing one pushup per day for a month, is better than trying to do hundreds of pushups right from the start, and then overload yourself and give it up altogether thinking that you have failed. If you just keep doing one pushup per day, you'll find it easier to be consistent, and you'll soon increase the number to 3,5,10 or more pushups per day. And that adds up quickly. If you just increase your numbers by 2 pushups every week, you'll be doing 100 pushups in less than a year.
Do Bodyweight Exercises Only
When you only do body weight exercises, you do not need a gym, any equipment, or a long time for training. Do you think body weight squats are too easy for you because you add hundreds of pounds extra in gym when you do squats? Try doing 500 squats in a row, and I'll talk to you then. And it should not take more than 15 minutes to do that.
Exercise Every Day
The surest way to develop a habit, is to do it every day. Find a comfortable workout load for yourself, and do that exercise every day. If you become too sore from previous day's workout, decrease the exercise intensity a little. But do not miss even a single day for exercise. Make it a habit like brushing your teeth or showering in the morning.
If you just stick with these 3 tips, and do exercise regularly for the next 30-90 days, you'll see great results. You'll be far ahead of the "this is the next cool exercise equipment I got" crowd who never uses them twice...
