Green Brown
Pasta and rice are two of my favorite foods. Now that I'm diabetic, I must be careful with these starchy favorites. But I found a recipe for pepper steak is served over brown rice or whole wheat fettuccine is delicious and allows me to have my starches comfortably. I thought you
1 / 4 cup canola oil
1 clove garlic, minced
2 medium tomatoes, coarsely chopped
1 1 / 4 cups of broth Beef
1 cup chopped onion
2 v. tablespoons cornstarch
1 tsp tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
6 c. tablespoon soy sauce
1 / 4 c. Ginger Tea
1 / 2 c. Tea Splenda Granular
1 / 4 c. Tea freshly ground black pepper
4 cups of hot cooked brown rice or whole wheat fettuccine
Steak into strips. Heat oil in large skillet over high heat. Add the steak and make fry until they turn brown, about 5 minutes. Add garlic, tomatoes and 1 cup of beef broth to the skillet, reduce heat and simmer. Cover and simmer about 25 minutes or until tender. While simmering the meat, cut the peppers into thin strips. When the meat is tender, add onion and peppers to skillet. Cover and cook 10 minutes. In a small mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and remaining 1 / 4 cup beef broth until smooth. Stir in steak mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ginger, black pepper and Splenda in pan. Mix well. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Serve over hot rice or fettuccine.
Remember to eat everything in the right. Do not load your plate with rice or pasta and a small piece of steak! That's cheating.
