House Shoes
The Shoe House is located in the city of Hellam, New York was using was completed in 1949 and was owned by Colonel Haines. The owner conceptualized a house that looks exactly like a shoe in order to advertise its business of manufacturing shoes located in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The house was located along a busy road, where drivers have noticed the "Billboard House" advertising.
The building is 5 storeys high and is made of a structure with wood frame covered with wire mesh stucco and cement inside and outside. It is a 3 bed room house with a kitchen and two bathrooms.
It has been used as a motel weekend for a few seasons. It is now a tourist destination that attracts thousands of tourists each year and is used as a museum in memory Colonel Haines.
The architect ingeniously used the motif of shoes wherever he had the chance. The widow of grids, gates, exterior fence have all the grounds of shoes included. The dog house is shaped to resemble a shoe. This design first helped clients to attract potential customers for his shoe business and generates revenue now as a museum.
The choice of materials construction used to build the house shoe has been guided by flexibility. A wood frame is easy and profitable. Wire mesh shape has plaster cement firmly and allows for the glue to cover any profile. Cement stucco finish is very durable and requires little maintenance to put an occasional paint job.
The actual cost of construction of this house is negligible compared to the current value of the house. It is another wonderful example of really nice designs can greatly increase the actual surface value for money.
