What is a good way to clean leather Italian? Or where can I find a good Italian leather clean.?
I really want to get ink if the Italian leather. There is a leather sofa ...
The ink is not a cleaning problem straight forward. The ink has redyed leather needs to remove carefully. The type of leather you have will determine success. Italian leather can be aniline style or pigmented. To check what type of leather you should see the link here: http://www.lttleathercare.co.uk/whatkindofleather.asp If the ink is on a pigmented leather then the first thing you should try is an ink stick (find one who is a professional product used in the industry - LTT do one). The fresher the ink more chance you have to remove it. Remember to check the type of leather you have before it as if you use a style of aniline it will not work and may leave a greasy mark which will not disappear. If an ink stick does not work a stripper based solvents will be used and it will also remove the end of May and the pigment is best left to experts. Use hairspray/WD40 and all these other solvent cleaners is very risky because it can make things worse as it spreads ink over a bigger area and can sometimes be impossible to correct. Use of alcohol, perfume, etc. may also be a little risky depending on how stable the finish is. If the finish is unstable this would remove the pigmentation of the skin. Solvent nail polish or other solvents will also remove the finish and pigment which must be replaced. DO NOT USE wipes babies because they are the worst thing you can use on leather as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin it. Please try no milk or toothpaste these are silly ideas that leave sticky residue on the surface which will help break the finish on your leather. Magic erasers usually remove finish and pigment with the ink. We have just tested them and they really do a lot of damage on leather. They act like a fine sandpaper and remove arrival. Old ink will be harder to remove than new ink and may mean the use of solvents which will also remove the finish line. This is probably best left to experts. Silicones / furniture polish are the worst thing to use on leather as they will form a coating on the leather surface that will not allow moisture to reach the leather and will eventually break all the finish down and make crack. Leather does not need that packaging it needs cleaning and protecting on a regular basis with products based on water this will keep the rehydrated and supple. Oils will make things much worse. Leather: be cleaned gently not scrubbed so 'elbow grease' will only cause damage to the finish. Hide the food does will not remove ink and leave residues on the leather which attract dirt and oils. Using a protector of good quality leather (one that works) help make this problem easier should it happen again, he also does your leather good by protecting it against oils and dirt which ultimately make pigment crack and the leather deteriorate. If the ink on an aniline leather then there is nothing that works if leather cleaner has not. Basically you have the leather and redyed you need a specialist to resolve the problem. Use a cleaner and protector on a regular basis will help to dissipate the ink and Finally, it is not so obvious.
