Many people ask me advice on how to improve the performance of their ads. It is a common problem, advertising or marketing campaigns that are simply not putting the big Bucks, as expected, and it is simply because most ads fail to gather new customers and consumers.

You do not want to announce a new line of footwear sport basketball with the Cookie Monster of Sesame Street, would you? Just give yourself or your company bad publicity because the announcement would not ring with your target market. Someone who wants to buy a shoe for basketball would much rather if Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant than they would a big blue fluffy creature who has nothing to do with sport, although she was a younger target audience that you tried to sell the shoe.

People will want to buy shoes because of the benefit it will give them, and how Cookie Monster is going to show them that buying this will be their sneaker best player in basketball or make them look cool. People could certainly talk about the ridiculous ad with Cookie Monster trying to dunk with your sneakers, but it will not the kind of publicity will make people want to buy your product.

Capturing their attention right away

If you can attract the attention consumer immediately you yourself have started with a good measure. In fact, it is an essential step because if a consumer decides to jump on your ad for any reason Spells Doom for you and your expectations of an income stream.
