Should she have to declare as income the money his father gave him?

My 60-year-old partner (we live in NWT, Canada) was give her money, her daughter, money, money. I think it is used, but that's another story. She is getting alimony and has a good job. Would she have to claim this money on his income tax. It seems very unfair to deprive him when he is near retirement.

Donations money need not be declared. I think if your partner has no problem giving his daughter money, then there is nothing you can do. It takes money from him because he is giving it to her. If it is the point where it no longer able to donate money, he would gladly explain to his daughter as he no longer works, it simply has no money to give. I am sure she will understand. BTW, I do not know how old his daughter is, however, it has created a movement to just give her money whenever she asks, it will be very difficult to break this habit.
