Packer Cowboy
The Green Bay Packers probably one of, if not the most colorful and most interesting walks in the history of professional football. They are located in Green Bay, Wisconsin and are in the NFC in the NFL. They are the third oldest team in the NFL franchise. They started as a small team City of nature that was commonly found in the 1920s and 1930s. They were founded by two former rival high school football Earl "Curly" Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun. They arrived with the names of the Green Bay Packers because first team uniforms have been paid by Lambeau's the employer of the Indian Packing Company. Today, the team is the oldest NFL team yet to have his original name.
August 1920 was the year for the Packers to become a franchise is when the new pro football league. Even if there were problems money and the franchise has lost this year, Lambeau has not abandoned and it has found new sponsors for the team. These donors again been called the "Hungry Five" and they became the Green Bay Football Corporation.
The Packers illustrious history includes twelve league titles. This is a record of the championships more than any other team in the NFL. On their behalf, they have nine NFL championships before the Super Bowl becoming the existence and three Super Bowl victories. Their victories were Bowl in 1967, 1968 and 1987. There is an intense rivalry with the Chicago Bears with whom they have played over 170 games. They also have a rivalry with the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have historically been rivals in the playoffs Packers, especially after the Packers beat Dallas in the famous Ice Bowl in 1967.
Green Bay is the only non-profit, community-owned Major league professional team of any kind in the U.S.. They may sport a story of a third country, 13-year losing streak that began in 1992. They had 2 Super Bowl appearances during that streak with a victory in Super Bowl XXXI. The Packers' losing streak ended in 2005 and 2006, they experienced a season with a marginal 8-8 record. In 2007 they found themselves with a 13-3 season with Coach Mike McCarthy in their head.
In the 1960s, the Packers won five championships league coach Vince Lombardi. This occurred during a period of seven years which led to winning the first two Super Bowls. Bart Starr is one of their most notable players, and Jim Taylor, Paul Hornung, Carroll Dale, and Jerry Kramer. The year 1967 was the last for Vince Lombardi as head coach of the Packers. The end of this season saw one of the most famous, if not the most famous of all the championship games of the NFL. It is still known as the Ice Bowl now, 41 years later. And people still talk about. At only sixteen seconds left in the game, Bart Starr has finished with the Dallas Cowboys, with a quarterback Sneak touchdown that brought the Packers their third consecutive win in the NFL. It is a feat that has been adapted to this day no other NFL team. They beat the Cowboys 21-17 and made their place in history. Lombardi's death in 1970 led to the designation of the Super Bowl trophy the Vince Lombardi Trophy in recognition of the great achievements of Vince and his beloved team, the packers.
One of the best moves that the Packers have ever done is quarterback Brett Favre Atlanta Falcons to draft first-round pick in 1992. The Packers then a fourth which has never missed a game start until he left the team for the New York Jets in 2007. Are the Packers Favre miss their beloved? Only time will tell. But my bet is that the Jets will now return with Favre led by the family jewels that professional football never seen. It will be fun to watch.
