Perry Ellis
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia to a middle class family, Edwin Perry Ellis is one of the most successful designers in the modern age of today. He was born March 3, 1940 and was raised comfortably by his family with the support of their own fuel company. He studied in Williamsburg, Virginia took a degree in business administration, he later used in managing his business manner.
Perry Ellis interest "Mode for the first time he had was running his own retail stores in Virginia. He created this company to acquire experience in the fashion world simply as a merchandiser and buyer.
In his quest for the ultimate experience, he joined the company sportswear owned by John Meyer in New York. Companies Vera approached him in 1970 for one purpose - to make designs for the Vera itself. It was not until 1976 when Perry Ellis decided to create her own line of women's sportswear that he has called the portfolio.
Since the introduction of the portfolio, critics and consumers of fashion Perry Ellis hailed as one of the most remarkable designers sportswear. In particular, women love him for a reason - Ellis creates its own models, each offering a clean cut casual style. It created his own fashion house with the help of companies Vera, and gave him the name Perry Ellis International. His showroom was opened on Seventh Avenue in New York City.
Months after the release of Ellis' casual sportswear style, it came with a menswear collection that has been introduced successfully in the global market. Critics of this line of products considered classic modern look and style. This collection was followed by other successful launches, which now includes shoes, furs, accessories and fragrances.
Perry Ellis International continued to spread in 1980. A number of labels were then released, including Perry Ellis Collection and Perry Ellis Portfolio. In 1984, the company formed a collaboration with Levi Strauss. The online portfolio was revised a year later, in 1986, the company has experienced an increase of approximately $ 250 million of their revenues from products.
The house of Perry Ellis was transferred to new management led by Robert L. McDonald, a close friend of Ellis in 1986 after the unexpected death of Perry. Marc Jacobs then took the role of Perry Ellis as a stylist for the company, which at the time was a fresh graduate. Jacobs started his own label in 1993 alone, and it was he who became the head of the House of Louis Vuitton in Paris.
Perry Ellis International has undergone several changes in corporate management. Manhattan Industries was traded at owner of Perry Ellis, the Salant. It is from them that a textile company based in Miami, has acquired the Ellis House in 1999. The company also acquired several other companies including the penguin and the original collection of Ping brand golf, both acquired in early 2003.
Today, the House of Perry Ellis is a major producer of all products of fashion, it is known for. Massive expansions are expected to occur with consumers becoming increasingly interested in Perry Ellis' major collections.
