True leaders are mentors with a servant's heart. This is not just enough to fill the space. If you are not a true servant with a passion for helping people you will not be a true leader in the truest sense of the word. It is that simple. You may be healthy and have a list of people listening to your advice, but that alone does not make you a leader. People are not numbers you can simply add your email list or network connection. These are people with dreams and goals as you. As a true leader, she should be your goal to lead people where they want to be.
Being a leader is not something that you must be born with. You can develop the qualities of a leader dept by being a good follower. The real leaders, people are not mean, however, they must be above average. I mean is that if you are an average person daily, you are probably a follower not a leader. Once you become a leader, your thoughts, actions and achievements will above average, because you will react differently than the average person. So what looks like a leader?
Terry and Erin have two daughters aged of 11 years who started a nonprofit organization called "Friends helping friends." The organization raises awareness and money fight against cancer in children. They are a true representation of leadership in its purest form. I understand that we generally do not think the leadership in jeans and pink tennis shoes, but it may be part of the problem. Often expected to show leadership in a "format" and we miss all the magic of leaders who have the potential to change the world. We walk right by those who would most likely soar above all others because we have a predetermined narrow vision of what "should" be.
The girls decided to take the reality of their lives, learn from it and focus on others so they can make a difference for the generation that will go after them. Before they were a decade they had already put their legacy in motion. Three of the four children who are involved in the program have terminal cancer. Their dream of living and what they and their families thought it might have been broken by the brutal and cruel reality of reality. They could choose to lose in this reality and losing their dreams, and yet they find empowerment in the journey. That's right! They chose not to be a victim but took the decision to embrace empowerment. The trip is part of life where we must consciously choose to capture the lessons of the most dark experiences and focus outward on other people. It is the trait of a true leader. This is the reward arrives. Not just a reward for you and the person that you focus on, but with all the people with whom they interact. This is a ripple effect true.
These girls have inspired a foundation called "Friends helping Friends" target = "_blank"> (Www.fhfproject.com). They are dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer, raising dollars in research to identify it and children in their county that they live so they can learn to drive in jeans and pink tennis shoes too! Over the last two years they have collected countless spirits from a community together, inspired numerous other businesses to get involved and have amassed over $ 75,000. Beyond that, they are inspiring a movement of people. They have a level of influence that most leaders do not dream only. When they enter a room, it is like a magnet. People stop and automatically hypnotized. Not because of their lack of hair or tremors hand the variety of cocktails they have medicine to take daily. Not by far! They have a special spark in their eye and Energy in their approach. They chose to see the light at the darkest closets and goodness in the most suspicious people. They really have a different perspective on life and appreciate the value of everything that comes across their path. As I said, a true representation of leadership in its purest form.
Excuse me. I must go now. I need to pick up a pair of tennis shoes cute pink webkins and play with girls. If I'm careful enough, I could learn a thing or two about leadership!
