Are you watching other companies and events for "clues" about marketing your business? Do not make the mistake of think "they are in a business other than that I am, this does not apply!

This weekend, Mr. Barefoot and I took our gang to the pumpkin patch in another city. This is our 4th Once this particular patch. We are an hour and 15 minutes to get there and probably spend more patches that are closer to home. It is a full one day event and an achievement considering the 4 rugrats we take with us.
This year we also took 2 grandparents 2 uncles, 2 nieces and a nephew. We had a gang.
Admission is free. And thousands of people come by. Seriously. Thousands.
One might say - well, they should entrance fees, they pass. Not! It is literally a field of pumpkins to the side which is almost identical, but the admission fee. They have about 1 / 5 of traffic that this patch does.
Well, how are they making money if the admission is free?
... Short answer - They keep you as long as possible.
There are lots of hay to climb. There are photos of wood cuts of favorite characters for children to ask for with photos. There are food concessions. There's pumpkin patch to pick from, Ballade, a mini-train, two hay mazes, and vendors with the shop and more.
The way they make money? They make money with kiosks and sales to the pumpkin.
Admission is free with a canned good donation to a local charity (Cause-Related Marketing) - people feel good in this particular patch and also allows charity to promote for them!
All activities are free and encourage you to stay, stay, and stay.
They provide wagons to take your children, diaper bags, your pumpkins, etc.
It's just smart overall.
They get a huge amount of potential buyers coming with the promise of free activities and fun for children.
So ... then you stay, you choose pumpkins, hungry, buy food, shop from vendors, etc.
Bright.
How can you apply this to your business? Free samples? Free demonstrations? Free reports or e-books? A Free E-zine? (Sign in to ours in the top right of the screen if you have not already!) Articles Free? Good content has continued to maintain "them" around?
Get more traffic potential as possible ... then bring them to you like, to stay, to buy.
