Running Fitness?
I need to be able to run a half-mile in 12 minutes because I wanted to join the Army. I need to do this for the Pre-Registration Test me. I also had to do push-ups (not that girly, right, and pull ups. Do you have a program, ideas, or tips that can help me. I was not able to go to the gym, so please suggest things I can do outside the gym. I have wieghts, (up to 20Kgs) if they could incorparated. How often should I program, daily. Please help me, give me useful info that you may have! Thank you xxx
Seriously, unless you are really worth you will not have a problem with this at all, for starters, try jogging round the block or up and down your street, or around the park, try to keep a good pace and relaxed breathing, long slow jogs would be better to you faster than a short and long are "fat burners" Do not spit when running because you will lose enough water through sweat and your do not want to become dehydrated. Try not to get into work if you can help it. When you run, make sure you have a pocket for cell phone / house keys. Do not run alone for safety's sake, if you can find partners to help / encourage you, or get someone to bike with you. Time yourself on your 1st/2nd run, and then time yourself in a few weeks and you will see an improvement. Then you can extend your walk, try to keep out for 15-20 Min to start, and do not forget to do stretching before hand. Do not be carried away by it all too fast as it can pull muscles and you'll be sick, if you need a day off, have one. There are several sites that will help you set up a fitness program depends on your fitness, weight etc. and you will find a local running club that can help you with the cost of joining a very low and you will not have to run itself.
