In the world of recruiting boys basketball, stories can get crazy. Stories about players dipping in kindergarten or signing with UNC or UCLA in the fifth to make an interesting story, but they are rarely based on facts. Recruiting boys basketball is very competitive to say the least. There are always thousands of student athletes here in America trying to make the college level, but now there are thousands of European players and other players who are competing for spots College file.

After recent changes in the rules of NBA has had a huge impact on the recruitment of boys basketball. Secondary actors can not go right out of high school to the NBA. They must be at least nineteen years into the project. This has left the elite college coaches an interesting dilemma. The dilemma is whether or not you pick the best of the best players and have them for one year, or are you going after good players and have them for two or three years? Most Coaches are still going after the best talent they can get.

If you are a player in basketball and you're trouble go to college, you may need to leave the crowd and do something else. Most athletes (99%) will never market and promote themselves Coaching for College. Therefore, they are not automatically recruited by colleges, they will never recruited at all.

In boys basketball recruiting (and other sports too), you do not have to sit back and just hope the coaches will notice. You can send your curriculum vitae and athleticism to let them know you and how you can contribute to their program a success. Once you do that, you start calling coaches and you write if you think you can play at their level of competition and success.
