Is it true that the flight attendants are allowed to spank passengers for the use of electronics during flight?

I will fly to Oregon later this month, and my friend told me that nowadays, the flight attendants have the authority to spank passengers who use electronically during the flight! I have flown before, but not since 2001. My friend told me that most airlines recently imposed policies because they were sick of people using electronic devices during flight. Apparently, every major airline in the U.S. do this, and apparently they are allowed to spank on the bare bottom! He said that each airline has a sign out that they use, too. They are usually paddles that have the company logo on them. I had no idea they were allowed to do that, is it true?

Absolutely not. If they did, they would probably be charged with assault. HAHAHA, funny question, however.
