I am after a recipe library weekly women vintage recipe card? Chocolate family?
Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone can help me find a particular recipe in the library of the week, the women very old vintage form recipe? That chocolate cake family, my mother the recipe box together, but this card has disappeared some years ago and we have never been able to find the recipe for this cake anywhere. This is the best cake ever lol and remember when I was a child. If someone has or could give me some ideas of how I could find it would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I googled youre query and got this recipe. I hope this helps. INGREDIENTS 2 cups (500ml) water 3 cups (660g) caster sugar 250g butter, chopped 1 / 3 cup (35g) cocoa powder, sifted 1 tsp tea baking soda, sifted 3 cups (450 g) self-rising flour 4 eggs, beaten lightly 90g butter 1 / 3 cup (80 ml) water ½ cup (110g) caster sugar 1 ½ cups (240g) mixture of icing sugar 1 / 3 cup (35 g) cocoa powder METHOD Preheat oven to moderate. Grease deep 33cm x 26.5cm (14 liters cup/3.5) baking: base line with baking paper. Mix water, sugar, butter and cocoa powder sifted and combined soda In a medium saucepan, combine heat, without boiling, until the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Mix in a large bowl and cool to room temperature. Add flour and egg in a bowl, beat with electric mixer until mixture is smooth and has changed to make a lighter color. Pour batter into prepared pan. Cake Bake in moderate oven about 50 minutes. Stand cake in the baking dish 10 minutes before turning on a grid, turn over the cake up to cool. Spread cold cake with fudge frosting. Fudge Frosting: Combine butter, water and sugar powder in a small saucepan, combine heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved. Sift the icing sugar and cocoa powder in a small bowl, then gradually incorporate the butter and warm. Cover and refrigerate about 20 minutes or until glaze thickens. Beat with a spoon wood until spreadable. Tip: Select a perfectly flat bottom for cooking, a cast aluminum is the best choice, but almost any type will work. If the cake seems to be cooking too fast in the corners of the pan, reduce oven temperature to slow moderately, This will increase the cooking time of 15 minutes maximum
